One Word selected by Debbie is RAIN… which I for one dont find that surprising. After all we have ‘enjoyed’ a wet Winter, then a wet Spring which was followed by a record wet Summer.
True, we were blessed with some bright sunny days, which last winter just emphasised the effects that heavy rain can bring. no football or tennis on these flooded fields that illustrate the power of too much rain.

and of course this is as the water receded, all be it for a few days, then back it came. The sad part is that further down stream in the city proper where immense damage occurred the Council have still taken no action to elevate future damage (apart from talk about it)…. So far so good… the river this week was at bank level but managed not to overflow.

Rain from hurricane Helene which caused massive flooding has absolutely decimated entire towns in our south. The photos of the devastation are horrendous. I’m happy to say friends of ours who live there are safe.

So true. Even a little water can cause a lot of damage. Entire towns and villages are just gone, many folks still missing, and up in the mountains where so much damage occurred, the only way left to get in to the areas is by helicopter. I just can’t even imagine it.
