  1. Larch are a Conifer that is cool climate Conifer. It is one of the few Conifers that is deciduous, it is when it drops its needles that the colour change occurs. Like other autumn leaves the richness of colour depends on the weather it enjoyed (or not) from Spring thru summer. We have a lot of Larch, mainly planted in mixed Conifer plantations as a commercial crop. The best part for me, apart from the autumn colour, is walking thru the woodland and crunching the needles on the woodland floor, soft but also releasing a unique aroma

    1. itdoes depend on the earlier weather in the seasons. ..sun and heat to generate sugar and the colour is vibrant…wet and cold like this year and they muted yellow gold. This shot was last year a good year 😃
