Sunshine make a big difference for one of our Mute Swans… for the past few days the Lake has been frozen… and sitting on cold ice is no fun, even with a down covered bottom!
The day is dull, warmer and every so often the sun breaks through. The Swan spreads its wings, deploys some energy in a quick paddle, and enjoys a rise, though small, in temperature
Weather is fickle, winter weather even more so… so as always…

Sunshine really does make such a difference, even for our feathered friends! Poor Swan—it’s hard to imagine sitting on ice, even with a down-covered bottom. 😅
Sunshine makes the difference for me too! It’s so gray in Latvia this year; I can’t wait for sunny days to start.
