
Saint Mary’s Kirk, Dunvegan, Isle of Skye
On the Island of Skye, on the outskirts of the town of Dunvegan, is a hillock on which you can find the ruins of Saint Mary’s Kirk. Just four walls remain, with no roof. This building was erected in 1694, but like many other religious buildings, based upon a much earlier religious building, here it was a medieval building and thought to have Norse connections. St. Marys now only hosts ghosts of the past…. But reading the many headstones and grave markers, it still tells the communities history over many centuries
