Mix and Match Weather…. The Ups and Downs of the Weather

Evening Calm on the Lake

Strange weather flow at the moment…….  The mornings are dull and grey, sometimes a little rain.  But get past noon and the sun appears, the clouds clear and blue sky is there to end the afternoon. Thick coat in the morning – shirts sleeves by the afternoon. I wonder what the weather gods will bring tomorrow.

March Winds do Blow……

_DOI1641qqq

Friday morning we ‘enjoyed’ 4 Seasons, each intermingling with each other.  For various reasons Buster and I had to delay our walkies till the afternoon……  and what a difference in weather.  True it was still chilly in the wind that had only dropped a little.  The bonus was the clear blue skies and sunshine.  A welcome tonic.

The clouds that did appear, vanished over the horizon driven on by the South Westerly wind.  Thankfully it didn’t bring any further rain, sleet of hail.

The Daffodils below the Hall say Spring is here…… but best not count our chickens just yet.  This may well be the calm before the next storm.  Certainly the forward forecast looks grim again.

Best to be grateful for a bonus afternoon.

All Alone…well nearly

_DOI1570qqq

After several days of stormy weather, the sun made a welcome return. Not that our daily walk was without us getting wet.  But overall the temperatures are a little higher and it was a lovely spring walk…..  a walk we had very much to ourselves.

_DOI1549qqq Down by the Mill the first Daffs are starting to show. The cricket field has started to be prepared and the shadows through the trees added to the feel that the year is moving on.  But as a reminder of the storms the River is running high though not yet at its peak.

Nice as the morning was, there were no takers for the benches…. benches with a great view on a day when the day could breath after the storms…

Calm before the storms…..

_DOI1496qqq-w

Early morning sunshine to welcome the day.  This is the calm before the predicted storms due to arrive later today.  Schools have now returned after the recent closures for CV19 which probably explains why,  despite this welcome splash of sunshine, that the Park was so quiet.  Being totally selfish….it makes it all the better to enjoy.

The winter Heather is in flower, though I am sure my favourite Silver Birch had large leaf buds back in earlier February.  Shadows are long in the Yew woods, but its nearly spring like by the top Oak….  Sunny it maybe but it still looked cold down by the Lake

The sun retained a watery look and looking across the winter barley field you could see the cloud cover building….  a precursor of the storms to come

Winter always seems to have a sting in its tail….lets hope that this the last of this winters “treats” and spring can make a smooth entrance…..Till then…

Feeling…….. just a Little Cheated

_DOI1489aaa

We have had what seems like an endless stream of grey damp days.     But at the end of these monochromatic days, the skies start to clear, the sky is blue and sometimes, like tonight, we get a hint of a sunset.

We can take some pleasure from these splashes of hope……  we can also enjoy the fact, that as each day goes by, the daylight hours get a little longer.   But sadly the forward forecast is for storms

No matter what the weather has in store for all of us…..
