Lion Rock, Dove Dale, Derbyshire
Dove Dale one of the most famous of Derbyshire Limestone Dales. Dissected by the clear waters of the River Dove made famous many centuries ago by the famous fisherman Isaak Walton author of ” The Complete Angler (1653) “.
That same River carved out the Dale from the Limestone many millennia ago leaving tall cliffs and the rocky outcrops.
The one above is known as ‘Lion Rock’……. now can you spot the Lion’s Head?
