An Early Start, as the Sun came up, Allestree Lake, Derbyshire
We had our first frost last night. Only a light frost which soon vanished as the sun broke the horizon. The outlook was for a day of blue skies and bright autumnal sunshine. But Murphy’s Law dictated that after so many dark days, that the first perfect autumn day came with an agenda that prevented us taking advantage of this fantastic weather break.
So maybe a very quick walk round the Lake could be squeezed in. The Lake, still much in shadow as the sun broke the treeline was looking dark and mysterious.
It didn’t come as a complete surprise as yesterday evening the skies started to clear banishing the clouds and welcoming the stars.
So on with the fleece and off for a short, brisk and invigorating walk to set one up for tackling the days diary..
There were also two sides to the Lake this morning. One for the Mallards who were still just enjoying a quiet lazy start….
On the opposite bank, the Black Headed Gulls were in a feeding frenzy for the first morsels of the morning…
So with a last look and a deep breath of fresh air it was off to do battle with the rest of the day.
No matter what your day has instore for you….
