The Ash in the Meadow
Spring is well underway. Trees are starting to show their green leaf growth. Of course it would be too easy for all trees to leaf at once. The Chestnut leads the way, Willows are Weeping and Silver Birch buds have burst.
But both the Ash and the Oak have yet to join the party…… so that leaves us, with a leafy conundrum, well at least as far as the old country rhyme goes..
Oak before the Ash
We are in for a Splash
Ash before the Oak
And we are in for a Soak
At this moment I cannot predict the winner.
But I guess it doesn’t really matter which wins the race… we will get some rain. Its just a question of a little or a lot!
Whatever the weather
