Inspired by Sue Judd’s post (https://suejudd.com/2021/08/23/through-a-wood-darkly-1/)
Yesterday, for a change the sun shone bright, so we headed for the open moors to catch the Heather in bloom….. and that is a treat. There is though another treat and that is climbing on twisting tracks through Oak and Birch woodlands to reach those moors.
The scent of Heather drift down but the aroma from the Ferns was equally as heady and stimulating.
Woodland may be dark but never dull 🙂
But dawdle too long as the moors and heather await
They say the journey is as important as arriving…… I think I agree 🙂
On the journey or on arrival…..

Pleased to have been of inspiration, David! Those moors look wonderful, and the journey IS as important as arriving

I so agree, the journey certainly is just as important as the arrival. And I would say, from your photos, a journey through the moors is so worthwhile.
