Mid May, and when you get a day as good as today, then it’s the right time to visit Lea Rhododendron Gardens here in the Derwent Valley, Derbyshire.
Each year we try to plan a visit to this hillside garden. This year I think we got the weather and timing just right. Maybe the dry and warmish spring has helped, but I am sure this season is the best show we have seen. As you walk through the gate the strength of colour zooms out at you. So, it’s off to explore the many narrow tracks beneath the blooms. Put your walking shoes on and join us on a tour..
A visit that says that Spring is ebbing away and summer is not that far off.
Enjoy your weekend…. and as always….

With scent and the vibrant colours it’s hard not to be. There was an American visitor. He was just standing there mouth open, then turned and said ” I have never seen so many bold colours and I have seen many fabulous gardens in the world”…. he was truly mesmerised.
