Lakeside, Allestree….. mid-morning October 31st
The last day of the month……. The shorter days are starting to show and grey mornings are not helping. But at least today we had the occasional bright spell.
But for October, the usual start of autumn, has proved to be a rather a slow starter. The nonnative hybrid trees have put on a colourful show, but it is only now that the majority of our woodland is showing signs of change…. I fear that the gales forecast for early November will strip the tree before we enjoy true autumnal colours.
The weather has been unpredictable all year, so I do wonder just what November will bring.
