A Bit of Sparkle on a Cold Day

The Lake hasn’t frozen yet, but it has that still viscous feel about it, not yet ice but just firm enough to hold the leaves now falling from the Beech.

Our run of record highs has now well and truly gone for the year.  In our part of middle England, it was -3c and our first frost of the winter. Sunny, which soon burnt off the frost but did nothing to lift the temperature…..  forecast that some real cold weather is on the way (real for us that is – I do recognise that other places have much lower temperatures than we ever get)
