Lots of hints and tips coming our way to help in with the current Energy Crisis. Hints and tips to save money and energy are a regular feature of the news… wrap up well (Hey! this is winter, we already do that), turn the heating down, keep curtains closed, turn lights out when not in use, microwave instead of oven cook and so on.
This morning’s News Bulletin reported that many folk, are abandoning the Tumble Drier and reverting to the good old fashioned Close Line.
I guess the locals at Loch Carron in the Scottish Highlands where ahead of the trend.

We never stopped using a clothes line, even in the Outer Hebrides where the washing may end up a couple of miles away!

Very atmospheric! I needed to dry a towel today and briefly considered whether it would dry on the washing line… out in the snow!

Um…well, I already do those things including hanging laundry out on an outside clothesline in nice weather. But I will confess I do not do so in the winter.
