Last week we had 3 days (or was it 4) of what one could say was summer… Hot sunny with clear blue skies and not a breath of wind… but lets remind ourselves that this is still officially spring.
It is perhaps no wonder that the Hollyhocks above are a bit bent and battered, as this week we have reverted to winter with the added bonus of monsoon rains.
Today was dull, but dry and the first chance to see how the gardens have fared. The Foxgloves like other herbaceous plants seem to have suddenly sprung to life…. may be those few sunny days kick-started them to life. Certainly the flower beds have filled out and lots of colourful shots reaching upwards to display their individual glory.
A small start but it is a cheerful start after our rather wert winter and dull spring.
Rain or shine…as always….

Rather a surprise as we started very slowly…our spring bulbs very late, some doing better than usual others a disappointment, not going to the traditional time plan. But all of a sudden we play catch up, last weeks hot sunshine made a big difference 🙂
