High in the Derbyshire Peak District is the village of Tideswell. A small charming village built around a long main street. In the heart of the village is larger church than one would expect for a country village.
It is the Church of Saint John the Baptist and is also referred to as the “Cathedral of the Peak” an appropriate name., and dates back to circa 1280ad

The interior, is as one would expect it to be, spacious and impressive…. however on this visit I was unable to take pictures of the high ceiling and nave…. scaffolding cloaked the nave for essential repairs, not I am assured for the structure of the Church, but to replace and update the electric infrastructure.
No matter the Chancel is just as impressive.. Dominated by high stained glass windows and featuring a simple alter and surrounded by wall sculptures…
(The Red chairs are temporary whilst the nave out of use for services)

It is Sunday…. I hope you can find some time out to relax…
And as always…..
Please Remember ….
