Greens Fading and Browns turning to Gold
It has, to say the very least, been a strange old year. A mild winter, the driest spring and summer and a record breaking high for summer temperatures. The Trees and plants, be they in the wild or garden, are all confused. Some spring and summer plants flowering again whilst others have found the year stressful and show worrying signs of that stress.
Its past the midway point of October and whilst there are increasing signs of autumns approach it still has a long way to go before we can say that autumn has actually arrived.
But out and about, the message is that autumn is on the way.
We even had some rain today which makes a change…. no doubt more will come…
The seasonal message is mixed….
I guess we will have more rain soon to make up for the years shortage…. we also know that we should start ‘winterising’ the garden, but at the moment we are reluctant to lose any of late summers colours….. and that is a sentiment the wider countryside is also embracing even though there are some colourful hotspot’s
Whatever the season and the weather, as always….
Please Remember ….
Stay Safe …. Be Kind…. Look After Each Other
